Q: Raku Studio Space wanted [posted by Aysha 10.12.07]
I am urgently seeking a studio space suitable for a forthcoming Ceramics project (with outside space for Raku work) in Jan/Feb 2008. A studio space is needed for 6 sessions running on concurrent Wednesday afternoons from 23rd Jan-20th Feb (excl. 13th Feb). Studio must have access to kiln/ceramic making resources and be close to Coventry City Centre. The project is working with young people, looking at the theme of 'Fire' and how it can be used creatively. Participants will be producing work for inclusion in The Herbert's new gallery space, and will also be producing an AV to accompany this work. Please contact me ASAP if you have anything I may be able to use for this exciting project!

Q: Who does scans of paintings? [posted by Stuart 2.1.07]
Is there anyone who knows of a company who can do hi - res scans of my paintings ? Warwickshire area if possible.

A: We can do high res scans for you here at Nellyb, up to A4 and we can print upto A3, if your paintings are larger, then someone like Rayfont, in earlsdon could probably scan larger. You could also just photgraph the paintings and input the photographs on a computer, it depends what you wanted to do with them. hope that helps. nellyb

Q: Where can I get some portable staging? [posted by Simon 24.4.06]
I need to get hold of some relatively portable, but sturdy raised stage blocks or rostra - preferably that can be fastened together. Willing to beg, borrow, hire (but steal if necessary...).

A: For a hire option, you could try www.stage-electrics.co.uk hire department, or else this is the sort of things that schools have so you could try a local school (especially one with Performing Arts College status) [posted by Janet 24.4.06].

A: I think it might be worth trying the Community Arts Workshop / One Nation Studios in Leamington for staging 01926 888333 [posted by Andy 4.9.06]

Q: Recommend Public Liability Insurance? [posted by Cathryn 10.4.06]

I am the programme manager for Arts+Media Training. We have had quite a few requests lately from people wanting advice on who to go to for public liability insurance for artists running workshops etc. The company we have previously recommended (Opus Insurance) has been taken over by a larger global company and so I am looking for advice and guidance from redteapoters regarding who gets what insurance supplied (locally or otherwise) by whom. Any info gratefully received.

A: I recommend Performers at Wrightsure, which is really good although might not be suitable for everyone. Any Performing Artists who are Equity Members will also be covered by their membership. [posted by Janet 10.4.06]

A: AIR Public Liability and Products Liability Insurance. From 1st November 2007, AIR membership will automatically include public liability and product liability insurance cover up to £5m.Go to www.a-n.co.uk/subscribe for further information on artist subscription and sign up.
