Frieda van de Poll
Frieda van de Poll received her training at the renowned Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam her home town. She mixes her own paints and also makes objects, especially in an unusual combination of ceramics and knitting.
In recent years Van de Poll has had exhibitions in the Netherlands and the UK. She has artwork in private collections in several countries and receives regular commissions, notably for her colourful depictions and interpretations of the animals featured in the Chinese Year Signs. She also caters for events, such as weddings, where she collaborates with the guests to create works of (commemorative) art.
In addition to her creative work, Van de Poll teaches Fine Art courses in drawing (life & still life) and painting with the Adult Education Service in Coventry and also offers private classes. Her dedication to teaching has lead to further personal development, such as obtaining a pgcert in teaching & learning and other postgraduate qualifications.
Van de Poll is a member of Dimensions, a group of Dutch women ceramists; Coventry Artspace Limited and of Coventry Artist Network.
